Teradur Tech™
+
"More carbide, more hardness, more life — for applications where the standard grade isn't enough."
What is Teradur Tech™ +?
Teradur Tech™ + is the enhanced version of our standard overlay, formulated for severe abrasion applications where the standard grade wears too quickly. By increasing carbide volume fraction to greater than 50% and pushing carbon content to 5–6%, it delivers significantly higher wear resistance without stepping up to specialty grades.
The addition of boron (1–2%) refines the carbide microstructure, producing smaller, more evenly distributed hard phases that resist both sliding and low-angle impact abrasion. Chromium content is elevated to 25–30%, deepening the carbide matrix and improving overall hardness consistency across the plate.
Teradur Tech™ + is the logical upgrade when replacement cycles on standard overlays become unacceptably frequent, offering a step-change in wear life at a moderate cost increase.

How It Protects.
By increasing carbon and chromium content, the volume fraction of hard carbide phases exceeds 50% — meaning more than half the overlay surface is composed of wear-resistant carbide particles.
Boron additions refine the carbide grain size and distribution, producing a more homogeneous microstructure that resists both abrasive wear and micro-chipping under repeated impact.
The higher chromium content strengthens the matrix surrounding the carbide phases, preventing carbide pull-out and maintaining surface integrity even as the overlay wears.
