Teradur
Tech™
"The proven foundation of wear protection — reliable, consistent, and cost-effective."
What is Teradur Tech™?
Teradur Tech™ is our foundational chromium carbide overlay, engineered for general to severe abrasion applications across a wide range of industries. It delivers consistent, reliable wear protection at an accessible price point, making it the go-to choice where abrasion is significant but not extreme.
The overlay achieves greater than 30% carbide volume fraction through a controlled deposition process, producing a dense, hard surface that resists sliding and low-stress abrasion effectively. With carbon content between 4–5% and chromium between 20–25%, the chemistry is optimised for a balance of hardness and toughness.
Teradur Tech™ is the entry point into the Teradur family — and for a large proportion of wear applications, it is all that is needed.

How It Protects.
A dense network of chromium carbide phases forms during deposition, creating a hard surface that resists abrasive particles sliding across or embedding into the plate surface.
Our manufacturing process controls heat input and cooling rate to produce a consistent carbide distribution across the full plate area, eliminating soft spots and ensuring uniform wear life.
Natural stress relief cracks are engineered to be fine and evenly spaced, maintaining plate integrity and preventing large-scale delamination in service.
