Teradur
Hardflow™
"The same Teradur protection, precision-deposited inside your pipes and bends."
What is Teradur Hardflow™?
Teradur Hardflow™ brings the proven wear resistance of the Teradur Tech™ overlay family to internal pipe and bend surfaces — delivering the same metallurgical protection against abrasion inside conveying pipework that our plates provide on flat wear surfaces.
Conventional approaches to pipe wear protection rely on ceramic tiles, rubber liners, or basalt inserts — solutions that are effective in straight sections but struggle at bends, transitions, and complex geometry. Teradur Hardflow™ uses a precision deposition process to apply chromium carbide overlay directly to the interior pipe surface, conforming to any geometry including tight-radius bends.
All Teradur Tech™ chemistry variants are available for Hardflow application — allowing operators to specify the exact grade matched to their abrasive, whether fine particle, high temperature, or extreme wear.
Full Chemistry & Properties.
Hardflow uses the same chemistry as the Teradur Tech™ overlay family. Specify your required grade when ordering. Default chemistry shown below is equivalent to Teradur Tech™ standard grade.
| Element / Property | Symbol | Range / Value | Role in Performance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Available Chemistry | — | All Teradur Tech™ grades | Match chemistry to your abrasive type |
| Minimum Pipe Diameter | — | 250mm | Precision deposition requires minimum bore |
| Carbon | C | 3–6% | Varies by specified grade |
| Chromium | Cr | 20–30% | Varies by specified grade |
| Surface Hardness | HRC | 55–65 HRC | Depends on specified chemistry grade |
| Overlay Thickness | mm | Custom | Matched to pipe wall and wear rate |
How It Protects.
Teradur Hardflow™ uses a precision overlay deposition process adapted for internal pipe surfaces. The weld overlay is applied to the bore of the pipe section, conforming to the geometry and producing the same metallurgical bond as our flat plate overlays.
Because the deposition process is chemistry-independent, any Teradur Tech™ grade can be specified for Hardflow application — including Mo Nb for fine particle pneumatic conveying, HT for high-temperature slurries, and WC for extreme abrasion in large-bore pipework.
Bends and elbows are the highest-wear point in any conveying system. Teradur Hardflow™ specifically addresses this by depositing overlay on the outer radius of bends — the area that receives the highest impingement and abrasion from the conveyed material.
